Origin Story

We're just a bunch of humans who love the Earth and her generous palette of colors and flavors. As we were growing up, she began turning too warm, too dry, too sad. And as for us, adulting got too serious...

we are hers, after all.

We decided to let plants teach us.

We know there are many ways in which we could have approached the world's most pressing issues. It seemed like our need to eat combined with our lack of space and our ever-growing population numbers make up a really bad combo, so we decided to turn our focus towards Agriculture.

We've been looking for solutions everywhere: smart(er), bett(er), fast(er)...nev(er) enough, and what is even worse is we do it alone. There's only one problem with that: there is no such thing as "never enough" in Nature…"Not alone" - is what we should have been saying instead.

We decided to focus on the good. We are good people,  offering our gifts (intellect, heart, soul) to  Ì¶h̶e̶l̶p̶ let plants teach us how to re-green our life.

Take one good look at a plant and you'll witness her gentle patience, her wordless being, her intricate mechanisms. Extremely intelligent, selfless, efficient, beautiful.

We watched them adapt and grow. They outsmarted our system and LITERALLY developed new mechanisms (for real): roots that float in the air and grow micro-follicles for more efficient nutrient absorption. You read that right: roots grounded in things they cannot see. Sounds a lot like hope to us.

As it turns out, it is actually possible to eat healthy AND do less harm. If we are humble enough to let plants do their thing we can see we are more like them than we might think:

Let´s use a language that holds enough hope and possibility.

Let´s be more generative than we can measure.

Let´s soften to the humility of being small.

Let´s choose to hold on to the things we know, but cannot see;

and let´s make the roots proud.

FOOD is everyone’s business:

The facts: Current food growth systems rely too heavily on finite natural resources to satisfy demand, and nutrition crises continue to rise at an alarming rate.

The need for sustainable food production and distribution practices combined with a significant increase in the demand for healthy and diversified food is fertile ground for innovation. Let's restore this story, together.
